About Us

Becki runs Candystripe Couture Bridal & Suit Studio in Latchford village and during the Covid pandemic, decided to train as a massage therapist.

She has a diploma in Swedish, hot stones and Traditional Indian head and she is always taking extra courses to add to her skill set.

Many people worry and get anxious about having a massage but Becki does her absolute best to help you to feel at total ease. Having dressed Brides and measured Groomsmen for over 13 years, she knows how people sometimes like to keep their bodies hidden.

Our Prices

The price for a 30 min Swedish massage is £20, 60 mins is £40 (including  hot stones if needed) and 90 mins is £50 (including hot stones), Becki is much more affordable but she often takes extra time if she feels that your body needs it.

Traditional Indian head massage (45 mins) – £25

Back, neck & shoulder – £20

Lymphatic drainage massage (75 mins) – £50

This gentle massage encourages the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of fluids around the body. If you suffer from swelling of the legs etc, certain oils are used to help to reduce this. Dry body brushing is also used and hot stones if required

What To Do When You Arrive

When you arrive, you will enter up the stairs at the opticians and walk through the Bridal shop and into the back. There will be candles lit, low lighting and lovely scents and aromas filling the room.

You will place your feet in some warm water with relaxing oils while you fill in some details about what you want from your massage.

During The Massage

Whilst on the bed, you are covered with soft towels and heated pads – all of your body parts except the one being worked on, is totally covered up.

Starting with lying on your back, you will be offered an eye mask to wear so you can escape the realities of the day. When you’re asked to flip onto your front, again you will be totally covered up with soft, warm towels.

Extra Charges / Additional Information

There is NO EXTRA CHARGE should you want hot/cold stones during your massage – this is added to the therapy if and where Becki feels it’s needed.

Please let her know if there are any body parts you want to be avoided – the bottom is never part of the massage but the tummy and feet and a small part but can be left out if you don’t like it!

Swedish Massage

(90 mins £45)

Swedish massage therapy is the most well-known and widely practiced type of therapeutic massage – and for good reason. This type of massage focuses on muscle relaxation, targeting superficial muscles (rather than the connective tissues targeted in deep-tissue massage) and increasing blood circulation.

Swedish Massage helps to clear the body and mind of unwanted responses to stress.

Swedish Massage will elongate the muscles, open the joints and decrease swelling, all of which will ease movement and increase flexibility and Improve Posture.

In a Swedish massage, the therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil or lotion and performs various massage strokes. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions.

Hot/Cold Stones Massage

The benefits

A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.

During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat.

Where the stones will be placed

The stones may be placed:

  • along your spine
  • on your stomach
  • on your chest
  • on your face
  • on your palms
  • on your feet and toes
Swedish Massage Techniques

Massage therapists may hold heated stones as they massage your body using Swedish massage techniques such as:

  • long strokes
  • circular movements
  • vibration
  • tapping
  • kneading

Sometimes, cold stones are also used during a hot stone massage. Cold stones may be used after hot stones to calm any engorged blood vessels and to soothe the skin.

Anyone who is experiencing muscle tension and pain, insomnia, or stress may benefit from a hot stone massage

Traditional Indian Head Massage

£25 for 45 mins including hot stones (it’s relaxing and focuses on breathing, pressure points and upper back, neck, shoulders and arms/hands.)

It is a relaxing holistic treatment that uses acupressure massage to release stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. It aims to rebalance your body’s energies.

Becki can also massage sections of your body separately such as back, neck and shoulder but recommends a full body massage initially so she can locate where any problems areas are – for example, your lower back pain can be linked to your hips and your shoulder pain can cause tension headaches.

But is said that prevention is much better than cure, and so Research has indicated that a regular Swedish massage may help boost your immunity by increasing the type of cells that fight off viruses. A massage won’t stop a sickness once it has started, but it may play a role in increasing your immune system’s ability to prevent the sickness before it starts.

What does it involve?

The client remains fully clothed and sits in a massage chair for the treatment. At the beginning of the treatment, the patient’s mind is usually very active – many thoughts cluttering their mind. As the treatment progresses their breathing slows, the mind quietens and, by the end of the session, they are filled with an overall sense of peace.

The therapist uses a range of different movements including kneading, stroking and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face.
